If you are new to my hikes you have to message or email me before you can register. Priority on my hikes will be given to those who attend the hikes or who cancel their reservation at least 24 hours ahead of time.
The Henry Hudson Trail is a former railroad right-of-way.Much of the trail is tree-lined and some parts have views of surroundings wetlands ,streams and fields.This portion of the trail is primarily residential,transitioning between forest and suburban backyards.
Big Brook Park was a former farmland with scenic hills and meadows. There are porta-potties in the parking lot. The Library in Freehold also has restrooms. .The trail is paved, tree-lined, and relatively flat. This out to back hike is 12 miles long at 3 mph pace. .We will visit Bruce Springsteen's three houses where he lived, the Parochial School and Church he attended, etc, before heading back to the cars. This will add 2 miles to the total, but it is well worth it.
