Easy to Moderate on the 1808

This easy to moderately paced out and back hike of 5 miles will take us along the 1808 Trail and through the Mordecai Swamp with its groves of Atlantic white cedar. We'll stop at Buttonwood Camp for lunch/snacks and make additional stops for clothing adjustments and water breaks. The trail is full of roots, so wear sturdy shoes. Bring plenty of water as well as lunch/snacks. Don't forget bug spray and sunscreen. Meet at the back of the parking lot for the Batsto Village Visitors Center. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and hear the safety talk. Facilities are available both at the trail head and at the midway break..The hike leaves at 10:00.
