Stillwater stairs and the lift bridge hike + socializing at Brian's Bar & Grill

We'll meet in front of the lift bridge and do 3-5 of the historic Stillwater stairs for endurance training and then the lift bridge to a portion of the trail to reach the desired distance. The pace would be considered moderate plus. The hiking portion will be 15:30 - 16:00 minute mile pace. It is pretty flat except for the 1st hill. The entire event will be on pavement. There is no pace for the stairs. They are just additional training.

Social time afterwards at Brian's Bar & Grill where they have $3 burgers on Wednesday's. The address is Brian's Bar & Grill - 219 Main St S, Stillwater, MN 55082. We'll start pretty quickly (6:05 PM) so If you are running late, please leave a message on the event so we know to wait for you, or go looking for you. Future events may be limited if you are a no show.

Dog's are allowed, but must be kept on a leash. Owners are required to pick up after their pet. Dogs are not allowed in Brian's.

Things to know for hiking:

1. Dress in layers. It may be cool at the start, but you will warm up while hiking. Layers allows you to remove a layer, if needed.
2. Bring a dry shirt for socializing afterwards. It helps prevent chills in all seasons!
3. Decent shoes. The route that we will be taking is all paved. Supportive tennis shoes are typically the best. (Shoes for exercise, not fashion)
4. Bring water as you feel necessary.

We will meet at the pedestrian plaza by the historic lift bridge and start our hike from there. Please don't leave valuables in your vehicle. While we haven't had issues, other groups have and better to be safe than sorry!
