What we're about

Hello Outdoor Adventure Seekers! Our group mission is:

1. Bring together a group of people who love to explore the great outdoors and other "outdoorsy" focused events and activities. (maybe the occasional indoor/social themed events too, but for the most part we will stick to the theme of the group)

2. If we can't host/plan and event, we still want to be your source for great things to do in NYC where you can network and also have fun(the best combo!). We will be sending out a daily email of the Top Things To Do each day(most will be free too!). The email will also be archived on our message board so people can comment and gather there. If we cant host the event ourselves, we still hope members can reach out and get together. ****Please not if you do not wish to receive our daily email, you can adjust your settings so you do not get the email ***

Events will be in a melting pot of different things, kinda like our great city. Look forward to meeting you!

We promote this in various groups and always draw a nice mix of people! *** Description: Opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was hailed as “the eighth wonder of the world.” It's time to explore the amazing history of the bridge’s construction, and the heroic — and sometimes tragic — stories of the men and women who made it possible. Join our special guests as we uncover the incredible stories of the Brooklyn Bridge throughout its 13-year journey, from a moonshot idea on paper to achievement of being the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time. Led by a collections expert from the New-York Historical Society, our digital experience of this engineering feat will include: > What commuting was like to and from Manhattan before the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge > The origin story of the bridge’s construction, which would eventually help lead to the consolidation of New York in 1898 > Why the project was handed off from lead designer John Augustus Roebling to his son, and then later his wife > A look at how old world engineering know-how and modern industrial innovation came together to complete the project > Historic paintings and photographs of the Brooklyn Bridge during and after construction Afterward, we'll have a Q&A with the collections expert — any and all questions about the Brooklyn Bridge are welcomed and encouraged! Can't make it live? Don't worry, you'll have access to the full replay for one week! See you there, virtually! *Immediately upon registering, you will receive a separate, automated email containing the link to join this webinar **For the best possible viewing experience, please ensure you're using the latest version of your internet browser — Google Chrome is the most compatible.
