Welcome to the mighty Snowdon (Welsh: Yr Wyddfa) - the highest mountain in Wales and England at 1085 meters. Snowdon is part of a stunning mountain range offering views as far as Snowdonia, Anglesey, Pembrokeshire and Ireland.

Magnificent volcanic rocks formed over 400 million years ago, stunning massif sculpted by glaciation and the pyramidal peak of Snowdon make for a truly spectacular mountain to conquer.

WEEKEND DESCRIPTION

We are off to an exhilarating hike up Snowdon where surrounded by cirques, narrow crests and rocky cliffs we take up the summit (1,085m). Snowdon is a serious and tough mountain offering a great challenge for anyone who dares to explore its rugged terrain and beauty. This spectacular range attracts around 400,000 walkers a year and was famously used by Edmund Hillary in training for his 1953 ascent of Mount Everest.

On a clear day the views from the summit are spectacular - spanning across 18 lakes, 14 mountain peaks and as far as the Isle of Man, Ireland and the Lake District.

Friday

Head over to our accommodation in the Snowdonia National Park.

Saturday

Hike: Watkin path to Snowdon summit
Distance: 8 miles (13km)
Grading: Challenging - Mountain
Ascent: 1015m
Hiking time: 6 to 7.5 hours

Sunday

Hike: Crimpiau
Distance: 5 miles (7km)
Grading: Intermediate
Ascent: 320m
Hiking time: 3 to 3.5 hours

TRANSPORT, ACCOMMODATION AND START TIME

The trip starts at the venue and you will need transport to the hikes.

The accommodation address is at the top of this page, you are welcome to arrive from 7pm. This accommodation is basic and functional - not our usual standard

FOOD

Breakfast and packed lunches are included in the cost and will be provided for Saturday and Sunday. You will need money for drinks on the trip and dinner on Saturday night.

Breakfast is healthy and nutritious - typically cereal, porridge with fresh fruit, berries, nuts and seeds, fresh fruit salad, free range eggs, yogurt, toast and coffees, teas etc.

For lunch we provide fruit, crisps, cereal bars and a range of options to make your own sandwiches typically tomatoes, cucumber, houmous, peanut butter, honey, jam, ham, cheese and salami.

After the hike we enjoy Cream Teas - an English delicacy consisting of scones, clotted cream and jam, a tasty treat!

Meals are meat based with vegetarian options. To find out if the food being provided meets your intolerance/allergies/preferences/likes/dislikes etc, please email us. You are welcome to bring your own favourite items to meet specific requirements and there is a fridge and kitchen you can use.
