Outdoorly London is a friendly hiking community organising day hikes from London to some of the most beautiful walking destinations across Southern England, the South East, and occasionally the North of England.
🥾 We explore coastal paths, countryside trails, woodlands, hills, and picturesque villages — with routes ranging from relaxed walks to more challenging hikes.
Our trips are all about getting out of the city, discovering new places, and enjoying a great day outdoors with like-minded people.
🌿 No matter your hiking experience, all are welcome to join. Just bring your walking boots and a sense of adventure.

Arundel, Amberley Village, River Arun & South Downs Hike

A peaceful and scenic adventure through the heart of the South Downs, this beautiful circular walk from Arundel railway station to Amberley combines riverside trails, rolling countryside, historic villages, and spectacular castle views. Starting from Arundel station, we follow the beautiful River Arun with stunning panoramas of the magnificent Arundel Castle rising above the landscape before continuing through some of the most picturesque scenery in West Sussex.From the riverbank we continue towards the charming village of Burpham, a peaceful downland settlement known for its traditional cottages, quiet lanes, and panoramic views across the Arun Valley. The route then climbs gently onto the South Downs towards the picturesque village of Amberley, often regarded as one of the prettiest villages in Sussex. With its historic stone cottages, tea rooms, and medieval atmosphere, Amberley offers a perfect countryside escape. We’ll also pass the impressive Amberley Castle, a stunning 900-year-old castle surrounded by ancient walls and beautiful grounds.
After crossing the River Arun near Amberley, the walk continues through Houghton before joining the historic Monarch's Way trail back towards Arundel. Along the way we pass the historic Hiorne Tower and enjoy more breathtaking South Downs scenery before descending into Arundel’s picturesque old High Street, lined with ancient buildings beneath the Duke of Norfolk’s magnificent Arundel Castle. The Norfolk family have been Roman Catholics for centuries, and we’ll also pass the unique Arundel Cathedral area, home to the only church in the UK that is part Catholic and part Protestant, with the Catholic section historically separated by an iron grille.

Lavender, Historic Houses & Kent Downs

Escape the city and join us for a rewarding summer hike through some of Kent’s most picturesque countryside. This route combines historic landmarks, peaceful woodland trails, rolling farmland, and breathtaking views across the Kent Downs.Starting in Sevenoaks, we begin by walking through the famous deer park surrounding Knole House. The expansive parkland is home to hundreds of free-roaming deer and offers a wonderful mix of open landscapes and ancient trees. During summer, the park is at its most vibrant, with lush greenery stretching across the estate.
Leaving Knole behind, we continue through quiet fields and woodland paths, following scenic trails through the heart of the Kent countryside. Along the way, we'll pass through areas of traditional coppiced woodland before arriving at the magnificent Ightham Mote. This rare moated manor house, dating back nearly seven centuries, is one of the most impressive historic buildings in southeast England.
From here, the route joins one of the finest sections of the Greensand Way. The trail gradually climbs the Kent Downs escarpment, revealing increasingly impressive views across the Weald. On clear summer days, the panoramic vistas extend for miles, making this one of the most rewarding viewpoints in the region.
Our route eventually returns through Knole Park and Knole House(mid-15th century), offering a final chance to enjoy the parkland and observe the resident deer before finishing the hike.

Join us for an unforgettable day exploring the very best of Brighton’s coastline, countryside, and iconic seaside charm. This scenic circular hike begins in the vibrant heart of Brighton, taking us through the city’s famous streets and quirky historic lanes before we head out into the breathtaking landscapes of the South Downs National Park.
Leaving the lively seafront behind, we’ll make our way through the peaceful rolling hills of Standean Bottom, surrounded by open countryside and sweeping panoramic views. Along the route, we’ll visit the picturesque village of Rottingdean — a hidden coastal gem known for its historic character, charming cottages, and views of the beautiful Rottingdean Windmill standing proudly above the village.From there, we continue along the spectacular White Cliffs coastline, where dramatic sea views and fresh coastal air make this one of the most stunning walking routes in Sussex. We’ll also pass through Brighton Marina Village before returning towards the city, with views of the iconic Brighton Palace Pier and Brighton’s lively beachfront atmosphere.
To end the day, we’ll spend some relaxing time on the beach, enjoying the sea breeze, soaking up the vibrant Brighton vibe, and watching the sunset over the coast (if weather permits) — the perfect finish to an incredible hiking experience.

Easy Hike : Windsor Castle, Leptis Magna ruins & Long Walk

Join us for a spectacular hike through the Royal landscapes of Windsor Great Park, magnificent Virginia Water Lake and finishing in the historic town of Windsor beneath the magnificent Windsor Castle.Our hike begins along the peaceful shores of Virginia Water Lake before winding through the stunning Valley Gardens, famous for their vibrant rhododendrons and azaleas in spring. Along the way, we’ll visit the beautiful Cascade Waterfall, one of the park’s hidden gems and the fascinating Leptis Magna ruins, where ancient Roman columns brought from Libya in the 19th century create one of the park’s most unique historic sights before passing Wick Pond.
We’ll then explore some of the park’s most iconic landmarks — including the impressive Totem Pole, carved from a 600-year-old cedar tree, the historic Obelisk commemorating royal victories and Cow Pond, a picturesque spot filled with water lilies.
As we continue past the Royal Lodge and into Windsor Deer Park, keep an eye out for herds of deer roaming freely across the landscape. Then comes one of the iconic landmarks, the Copper Horse statue standing proudly on the hilltop.From here, we join the famous iconic Long Walk — a breathtaking tree-lined avenue stretching all the way to Windsor Castle. With stunning views and centuries of royal history surrounding us, it’s one of the most iconic walks in England and the perfect finale to our journey.
We finish in the picturesque town of Windsor, where you’ll have time to relax, explore, or enjoy food and drinks by the riverside or in the town.📍⏰Meeting Point & Time
