About us
We are a group of adventurers from the LGBTQ community looking to get out on trails, on rivers, or anywhere outside, actively enjoying nature and the great outdoors. Our adventures include hiking, biking, kayaking, ziplining, camping, yoga and any/all other outdoors recreational activities members want to do. Looking to make new friends in the LGBTQ community while having a great adventure? Then this group is for you.
We also welcome our straight brothers, sisters, friends, and allies!
The Outdoorsy Adventure Team is officially a nonprofit organization! While our love for exploring the great outdoors remains at the heart of our group, we’re expanding our mission to include community outreach.
As a nonprofit, we’ll be raising funds for local charities, organizing food drives, participating in community awareness events, and supporting our group’s operations. To help make this possible, we will begin charging a $10 annual membership donation. This small contribution will go a long way in helping us:
• Cover costs like maintaining our Meet-Up presence.
• Fund our participation in community events.
• Host an annual social (spring or holiday) to bring our community together.
• Donate all remaining funds at the end of the year to our favorite local charities.
We’re incredibly excited about this next chapter and hope you’ll support our efforts as we move forward with this nonprofit initiative. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in our community while enjoying nature and building connections.
Remember, just $10 can help us make a big difference in people’s lives. Let’s hike, paddle, bike, and climb our way to stronger community bonds and support for those in need.
Thank you for being a part of our journey! Let’s explore, give back, and grow together.

Firearms Training and Safety Program
Location not specified yetThis is a placeholder event for the Firearms Training and Safety Program that I'm working on with Jennifer Coffindaffer (retired FBI agent and firearms instructor) for our local LGBT community.
I will fill in the details in a few weeks after I get more info from Jennifer (training intinerary, class size, location in St Johns County, times, cost and payment, logistics, etc.).
There will likely be two different course levels
Introductory course -- 1 to 2 hours in length
- Intended for everyone
- $50 per person (approximately)
- Explain basic firearms components, terminology, safe handling, etc.
- Use of inert training pistol to familiarize students who’ve never handled a firearm and to reduce anxiety
- This introductory hour is the first hour and part of the longer and more expansive 4 to 5 hour training course
- Maximum class size - 20 students
Expanded course -
- 4 to 5 hours in length
- Inclusive of the introductory course above
- $200 per person, cost drops to $175 per person if more than 20 students enrolled (approximately)
- Course cost is normally $350 per person
- Maximum class size - 30 students
- We could add additional training dates if the demand exists.
If you'd like to register for this event now, please do so and you'll updated when I have further details.
