October 17, Eastern downtown Jacksonville narrated hike
Details
If you are able, bring a compact umbrella for the homeless population. We will distribute them appropriately along with our distribution of basic items. Such an item is a luxury for them, and most do not have one. We will meet promptly at 9:00 AM, October 17, at 256 East Church St., Jacksonville, FL, 32202. Parking is free, safe and plentiful. After a BIG surprise, (you'll have to be there) we will walk through part on the eastern end of downtown, past some historical sites, and enter the Old Jacksonville Cemetery where we will see graves of some of our city's important people. The place is haunted so you want to be with a group. I have some new stories, a couple of ghost stories and some new insights. Afterwards, we will walk back to our starting point. Total distance about 2.5 miles virtually flat and easy. Then join us for lunch at Crispy's at 1735 North Main St. Looking forward to this always fun and insightful walk.
