Eltham Lower Park to Wombat Bend

Distance / Difficulty
Join us for an approx 11 km return walk along the Yarra River. While not a difficult hike, the distance makes it better suited to those with a reasonable level of fitness. The route is close to suburbia yet still offers fresh air and plenty of natural scenery.
Meeting Point & Start Time
We’ll meet at Eltham Lower Park (in the carpark near the Eltham Lacross/Lower Eltham Cricket Club) at 9:00 am and set off at 9:15 am sharp.
Route Overview
From Eltham Lower Park, we’ll follow mostly paved paths towards Wombat Bend Playground. The track passes through pleasant bushland where native birdlife and occasional wildlife can be spotted, with suburban views peeking in at times.
There are several toilet stops along the way. Morning tea will be at a small pavilion just outside Wombat Bend Playground (about halfway), after which we’ll turn around and head back.
After Walk Treat
For those interested, we’ll gather for lunch at Prosciutto Bros, 31 Peel St, Eltham at approximately 12:30pm (own cost).
