Join me for a afternoon exploring two of Melbourne’s most iconic and historic landmarks.
EVENT OVERVIEW & ITINERARY
Part 1: Royal Botanic Gardens Walk
Duration: Approx. 1 hour 45 minutes (~3 km walk)
Highlights: Discover significant native and exotic trees, the lush Camellia Garden, serene Fern Gully, the interactive Sensory Garden, the striking Arid Garden, and the historic Guilfoyle’s Volcano.
Part 2: Shrine of Remembrance Guided Tour
3:00 PM: Pre-booked 45-minute official guided tour of the Shrine.
Post-Tour Free Time: Enjoy time to grab a coffee or tea, explore the Shrine Galleries (housing over 800 historical artifacts), visit the Crypt and Sanctuary, and take in panoramic city views from the balcony.
Part 3: The Last Post Service
4:45 PM: Experience a moving Last Post ceremony in the Forecourt honoring Victorian veterans, complete with a piper, bugler, and Shrine Guard parading in historic uniform.
5:00 PM: Event concludes.

We will meet at 12.45pm outside the Observatory Cafe kiosk which situated to the left of the Royal Botanic Garden Visitor Centre
Getting There
Public transport is best option via train to
Anzac Station or Flinders st station and catch a tram along St Kilda Road to Stop 19 (Shrine of Remembrance).
For driving, paid metered street parking is available along Birdwood Avenue and Domain Rd . There maybe free limited parking on roads further away
