The aprox 14km Greens Bush section of the Two Bays Walking Track is a moderate 300 mtr gain stretch through the Mornington Peninsula’s largest fragment of remnant native bushland.

Hike Overview

Meeting 8 30am for 8.45am start

​Distance: ~14 km up and back, combined with Baldry circuit loop at the end

​Duration: 3.5 -4 hours.

​Difficulty: Grade 3 (Moderate) – mostly undulating and clear, though featuring uneven ground, exposed roots, and occasional muddy sections.

​Trail Markers: Marked with the signature Blue Wren icon along the path.

Key Highlights

​Ancient Grasss trees hundreds of years old.
​Transitions between tall eucalypt forest, dense Coast Banksia groves, and lush, shady fern-lined gullies.
​Abundant Wildlife: Frequent sightings of Eastern Grey Kangaroos, swamp wallabies, echidnas, and native birds like honeyeaters, parrots, and black-shouldered kites.

​Main Creek & Lightwood Creek: Meandering creek crossings via timber footbridges, providing scenic picnic spots and shaded resting points.

Essential Practical Tips

Water: No treated drinking water is available along the track—bring at least 2 litres per person.

Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots or trail runners are recommended due to uneven surfaces and damp creek gullies.
