Dinner Around the World: GREECE 🇬🇷 Dinner & Candle Making 🕯️ Event

Join in on this monthly series of exploring food from different countries. There is a long list to try. Restaurants will range from “Mom and Pop” style to more formal, elegant surroundings.

This monthly event will be on the second Saturday of most months. Keep an eye out each month to see where we’ll be “traveling to.”

May 2025: GREECE 🇬🇷

In Ancient Greece, candles were made from beeswax and used for religious ceremonies and as offerings to the gods.

We will be participationg in an hour long professional candle making class. This is only available to our group, in our private function room.

We will each make a 10oz soy candle in a glass jar with a wood lid and a crackling wood wick. A complete scent library and all supplies will be provided. We will be taught by Instructor(s) on how to blend scents and create our own signature scents. Each candle is $40. They are offering us the option of a 2nd candle for just an additional $10, so you can choose to make 2 candles for only $50. The class will be 1 hour and our candles will cure for an additional one hour over dinner.

Due to the candle making session, it will be a late dinner, please keep this in mind and plan accodingly. Appetizers are available.

6:00 - Arrival: Socializing with drinks and self-ordered optional appetizers.

6:45 - Prompt start of candle making lesson, (we can continue to order drinks while we make candles).

7:45 - Seating time for dinner, (candles cure during this time). We will order from the full restaurant menu. Dinner is each pays own with waitstaff grouping people to make it easier on themselves.

A small portion of room rental fee has been included in each members cost.

Please PAY WHEN YOU RSVP: $46 for 1 candle or $56 for 2 candles to either - Venmo (Preferred method of payment) at Brenda-Medeiros-1 or Paypal FRIENDS AND FAMILY ONLY (as this way avoids me getting charged fees and not receiving your full payment - plus time consuming) at bamedeiros90@comcast.net. As per Meetup usual, payments are final. Additionsl charge covers room fee/fees.

Mediteranean Bar & Grill Greek Restaurant has its own parking lot.
