  • We 10 PPS members will receive free admission to the regatta in exchange for our granting unrestricted access (without compensation) to our full-size, edited digital files of shots taken at the Regatta. ***We will also be entitled to pick up a lunch at the Volunteer Tent on Sunday. (Jersey Mike’s sub+)
    - We will receive “Volunteer Photographer” entry badges and “Volunteer" T-Shirts (if you want one) from the organizers. The badges will provide entry all 3 Regatta days (Friday-Sunday), you can pick them up at the Volunteer Tent on your first visit.

Take pictures of whatever you want. The Crew Classic folks have asked us nicely to take some shots in the following general categories:

  • Race action, obviously! This is tough from the beach, and there will be professional photographers with boats, drones, etc, who have an advantage on the water. We have the advantage on the beach, with human interest shots, and other fun stuff.
  • Athletes in action on the beach (launching, landing), and on the water. A fun shot: Dunking the coxswain in the Bay after a race win.
  • Spectator action @ the finish line and elsewhere; people having a great time
  • Trophy presentations to the race winners at the Trophy Tent (some great shots)
  • Other Volunteers (anyone in a Crew Classic Volunteer shirt) doing their thing
  • Vendor Tents and Food/drink stands with people interactions
  • Beer Garden / Alumni Tents

PS - If you have not already done so, and want to understand what the sport of crew is all about, do one (or both) of the following:
- See the movie “The Boys in the Boat”, available for rental or purchase on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. The critics HATED the movie (57%), but audiences LOVED it! (96% Rotten Tomatoes PopcornMeter).
- Even better, read the book of the same name by author Dan Brown. This is a true story, an amazing book, and a great read! He truly captures the essence of the sport, and also the engaging story about the University of Washington crew team competing at the 1936 Olympics in Munich, Germany. The book is available on Amazon for rental or purchase.
