  • Please read all information before you sign up.
  • I will be at Christmas Circle @ 8:15 for those that want to caravan. We will head out at 8:30.
  • The road to Font's Point is best for Trucks or 4 wheel drives vehicles.
  • 9:15 PM – 11:30 PM (Prime Core & Arch): The Milky Way core arcs prominently over the badlands.
  • 11:30 PM – 2:30 AM (Vertical Alignment): The core rises higher and is at its brightest directly over the southern horizon.
  • It should be warm but bring something warm to put on as it cools in the night.

Bring your widest and fastest lens, a sturdy tripod, a remote shutter release, a flashlight with red light capability, and caffeine. Snacks and a chair are also recommended. The most important thing is to be familiar with your equipment, and know how to make adjustments in the dark. I highly recommend getting your focus and settings taken care of prior to arrival, and having your gear ready for a quick set up!
Bring a second setup for star trails, that can run on its own while we shoot the MW.

Please only submit an RSVP for this event if you have experience and are 100% sure you will attend.

If weather is not cooperating, we may need to cancel or relocate. I will make that decision no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting time.
