Join us at the Old Poway Park Farmers Market on Saturday, September 5 at 8:30 am. We'll meet by the train depot in this photograph at 8:30 am for introductions, greetings and group photograph. After the group photo, you are welcome to partner up with other members or wander off on your own.

The Park is free and open to the public to wander. In addition to the farmers market activities on Saturday mornings (8:00 am until 1 pm), interesting structures, gardens, bridges and walkways offer photogenic opportunities.

The Farmers Market has lots of unique food booths as well as produce, flowers and food products. At 10:00 am, the nonprofit Poway-Midland Railroad runs either a steam locomotive or a cable car for rides around the park. It appears that the steam locomotive will be running on Sept 5 (but the cable car might run instead.) It runs on a rail loop around the park that offers interesting photo opportunities. Cost of the rides are $5.00.

There is free street parking available as well as a free parking lot at the corner of Midland Road and Aubrey Street. At our 8:30 am meet-up time, there should be plenty of free parking available.

This is Poway so it can definitely get warm. While there is shade in many areas, it is encouraged that you consider hats, sunscreen and water. Walking is essentially flat throughout the park and the Farmers Market.

Lenses could range anywhere from very wide angle lenses to short/medium zooms. Tripods shouldn't been needed, and the area around the Farmers Market booths and near the train depot may get a bit congested.
