Visitable only by small boat, Lord Cove is a major brackish tidal marsh near the mouth of the Connecticut River in Lyme, containing a five-mile maze of waterways, with an abundance and variety of birdlife. It is one of the most ecologically significant wetlands in New England. The fresh-tidal marshes support bald eagles, osprey, and the endangered salt marsh sparrow. It includes the habitat of 10 plant species listed as endangered, or threatened.
We will put in and return to Pilgrim Landing in Old Lyme. This trip is tide-dependent.
Parking space at this site is very small. Try to carpool. There is no space for a boat trailers.

Required equipment: PFD on you and fastened, 10-foot length of rope, whistle. Bring water and any snacks needed. Be prepared to give your emergency contact number to the host if requested.
