Paddling Victoria Meetup

From kayaks to canoes to boards, if it paddles, you're welcome to get in on the fun. This is not a lesson or tour, but a casual group of people who paddle regularly.

Each Friday we'll enjoy a relaxed paddle around Brentwood Bay, Tod Inlet, or the Saanich inlet. This is a beginner friendly area, and it's great if you've taken a lesson, and want a low key, safe area to put your skills to practice. The group leaders do not have the time and focus to coach first time paddlers, as it detracts from the rest of the group's experience.
If using your own boats, launch from the Verdier Park public beach and ramp. Only Pacifica rentals launch from Pacifica's dock, to ease congestion.

This event takes place every Friday night, in April and September from 5:50 to 7:30, (start paddling at 6:00)
and May through August from 6:20 pm - 8:00 pm. (start paddling at 6:30)
Equipment Rentals for this event are discounted!
COST: $35 + tax Kayaks, or $32 + tax for SUPs (includes board/boat, paddle and safety equipment)
Those with their own sea worthy vessel can enjoy this weekly event completely FREE!

Bring your kayak, SUP, or canoe and join us for a relaxed evening paddle up the beautiful Gorge Waterway! We’ll launch from VCKC (Victoria Canoe & Kayak Club) at 5pm and head toward the upper Gorge, where the water is calm and the boat traffic thins out.

The Gorge is full of history and wildlife — herons, seals, and some of the prettiest shoreline in the city. We’ll keep a social pace, so it’s a great chance to chat and meet other paddlers along the way.

All paddlecraft welcome, and this route is friendly for newer paddlers — sheltered flatwater the whole way. PFDs required, and dress for the water.
