Sunset Paddle to Cole Island

Grab your kayak, SUP, or canoe and join us for an evening paddle out to Cole Island, one of the coolest hidden gems in Esquimalt Harbour! This little island was once a naval munitions depot dating back to the 1860s, and its historic brick buildings are best explored the way we do it — by water.

Launch: Stewart Beach, 5pm sharp. We’ll take a relaxed pace out to the island, stretch our legs, soak in some history, and paddle back as the evening light rolls in.

Who it’s for: Paddlers with some experience on the water — this route isn’t suitable for first-timers. If you’re comfortable handling your craft in open harbour conditions, you’re good to go.

Come solo or bring a friend — it’s a great way to meet other paddlers in the community. PFDs required, and dress for the water.
