Talk#2 Details

"The Real Web3: Building, Learning, and Thriving as a Solo Dev"

The talk shares my personal journey of becoming a self-taught Web3 developer who began coding at age 11, discovered blockchain at 13, and eventually choosing to skip university to fully commit to building in this space. The session will explore the many layers of Web3 beyond meme coins and ape pictures — highlighting real-world opportunities across DeFi, Smart Contracts, protocols, and decentralized infrastructure. Along the way, it will cover lessons learned from navigating the ecosystem as a solo developer, including the mindset required, common challenges, and the importance of community. The goal is to offer an inspiring and practical look at how accessible Web3 — and even seemingly complex development areas like blockchain and smart contracts — can be, especially for younger people or those coming from non-traditional paths, and how anyone can get started and make an impact.

Philipp Keinberger is a self-taught developer with a bit interest in Web3 related projects and security.
