REIKI WORKSHOP
Join Baltimore's Pagans, witches, and elders as we gather for an evening of food, drink, music, an exploration of REIKI, and spontaneous Pagan fun! PLEASE NOTE: This free REIKI WORKSHOP is open to Baltimore Pagan Meetup members at LEVEL 2 AND ABOVE. You are a Level 2 member if you have attended at least one of our Meet & Greets or other events in the past. Level 1 members may move up to Level 2 by attending our next Meet & Greet, scheduled for Friday, December 7. We usually hold our monthly Hogwarts-style workshops and seasonal celebrations on the 4th Friday of the month, but we are holding this November's event on the 5th Friday, in order to avoid conflicting with folks' Thanksgiving weekend plans. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * THIS MONTH'S THEME: ~ REIKI WORKSHOP ~ Presenter - Jack Aubert Reiki master Jack Aubert, who studied with Beth Gray (one of the twenty-two Reiki masters trained by Hawayo Takata, who brought Reiki to the United States from Japan), has been in practice since 1986. Jack will lead us in a two-part exploration of Reiki: Part I – REIKI ORIGINS & PRINCIPLES The origin of Reiki, as most of us have heard it, may be nothing more than a fabrication created by Reiki masters of the past. As we discuss Reiki’s colorful history, we will attempt to separate myth from fact, and learn why understanding Reiki’s history is important, and can affect the Reiki treatment we seek and receive. We will explore the principles of Reiki, and come to an understanding of what Reiki is and how it is practiced. Part II – REIKI SHARE/DEMONSTRATION Learn what to look for in a reiki practitioner. Experience first-hand giving and receiving Reiki and, in the process, learn how a Reiki treatment should make you feel and what a Reiki treatment can do. ATTIRE FOR THE EVENING: Comfortable clothing for the Reiki Share/Demonstration EVENT LOCATION: The location of the Meetup, along with details on how to find us, will be emailed to attendees. Since most of our gatherings are held in members' homes, we do not publish addresses online. COST OF ADMISSION: All of our events are FREE! An optional delivery dinner from a local restaurant is available. DINNER AND DRINKS: Order from a wide variety of scrumptious delights, or bring your own. The food delivery menu file or link for each event will be emailed to attendees, who will email their choices to the organizer no later than 10:00 pm the evening before the event. The order for all attendees will be placed when the attendees arrive at the gathering, and they confirm and pay for their selections within the ordering time window. (See schedule below.) Unpaid orders will not be placed. If you know you will have to come late, arrange for a friend to pay for your order, and reimburse your friend when you arrive. ENTERTAINMENT: Pagan music, fabulous food, a fascinating presentation, deep discussions, and spontaneous Pagan fun! SCHEDULE: 7:00 pm - 7:15 pm Sign-in. Confirm and pay for your food order.
