What we’re about

Welcome to Page Against the Machine. If you believe that knowledge is power, join us as we share new ideas and challenge old ones. Our purpose is to host a space for book lovers to come together and co-create thoughtful discussion around political ideas.

How It Works: We’ll take turns selecting next month’s read. Whether that’s fiction, non-fiction, essays, etc – the focus is on our ability to discuss how the writing applies to the current state of our society.

What Is Needed From You: Please read the selected book/essay if planning to participate in the discussion. If you haven’t read the selected novel, come hang out and see what we’re about. No matter what, show up with an open mind.

Group Donations: There is a donation option (via Pledge) associated with this group. Donations will primarily be used for meetup fees. With any excess funds, we'll purchase books for anyone who is interested in a physical copy but is unable to afford it.

Location: We'll rotate the event location amongst libraries in the Denver metro area. If the location for an event is too far for you, keep an eye out -- the location will be different each month.

Ground Rules: (1) Be considerate of other people’s opinions – practice tolerance for opposing viewpoints. (2) One speaker at a time – please don’t talk over someone. (3) Be mindful of how much you speak, to allow others the opportunity to share. (4) Help us keep our meeting space by respecting both the facility and the other event attendees.
