Queens' Broadway: Socrates Sculpture Park
Details
Outer Borough Interlude time, because Queens and Brooklyn ALSO have a Broadway!
This weekend's Broadway is in Queens, for a change! Specifically, where Broadway reaches the East River and a park emerges. The Socrates Sculpture Garden is a lush area with lots of trees, cool art, and lapping waves, and views of both Manhattan across the river and the industrial remnants of the Queens waterfront.
Our meeting point will be at the front gate of the park at 10am. Check in with me on-site so I know who's attending, and then we'll disperse to our individual painting spots. At 1pm, we'll meet back up to show off our art and discuss the day.
Gather your materials (watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylics, marker: all are welcome) and join with other artists for the joys and challenges of painting outside!
