Frenchman's Creek Natural Area is a 172-acre site with over 500 animal and 200 plant species including the great horned owl, red-bellied woodpecker, gopher tortoise, red-shouldered hawk, fish, wading bird, and manatee. It contains a portion of a creek and swamp that formed the headwaters of the Loxahatchee River.
There are 4 trails, a boardwalk through cypress swamp, and an observation platform. It is part of the Great Florida Bird and Wildlife Trail.
This is a walk, not a hike, of about 4 miles with loops and bailouts if needed. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, sunscreen, hat, perhaps walking sticks and binoculars, and a camera.

We will meet at 12201 Prosperity Farms Road, about a mile north of PGA Boulevard at 10 AM. Parking is limited, but we have been given permission to park at Cross Community Church, 2575 Lone Pine Road, in their east lot near Prosperity Farms Rd.
