This meetup group is for art lovers and artists at all levels who love plein air painting in and around Palm Beach County and the surrounding South Florida vicinity. The group was organized by Ralph Papa & Donna Walsh in 2010 to bring artists together to paint the land, sea and city scapes in beautiful south Florida. We welcome resident artists and visiting artists at all levels to come out with us to paint and document today's landscapes that contribute to tomorrow's history.
If you have never painted outside, it can be a bit intimidating. But it is an enormous amount of fun when you go with a compatible group, and the Palm Beach Plein Air Artists are so much fun. Once people paint with us, they can’t wait to come back. We plan going to many places in Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade Counties and have a lot of fun.

This exhibition will feature paintings and drawings created on location by members of Plein Air Palm Beach. Presented at New Studio for the Visual Arts in Jupiter, Florida, the exhibition celebrates the tradition of artists leaving the studio to work directly from life. Created en plein air, or “in the open air,” each work captures the artist’s immediate response to a particular place and moment. Changing light, atmosphere, weather, color, and the energy of the surroundings become part of the creative process.

Call for Artists! Delray Beach Library Show! Deadline to Apply Nov 15
Delray Beach Public Library, 100 W Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL, USPAPB Contributing Artists are invited to participate in the Plein Air Palm Beach Fine Art Show at the Delray Beach Public Library from Saturday December 5th through Wednesday February 3rd.
How to Participate
Join our Plein Air Palm Beach group on Meetup if you haven’t already. The next step is to become a Contributing Artist by paying $45 Join or Renew CA
**There is a $20 exhibition charge. Please pay by RSVP'ing on Meetup, then pay the $20 exhibition fee.The deadline to enter the exhibition is Sunday, November 15th.
Take-in will be on Saturday December 5th from 10AM to 12 noon. Take-down will be on Wednesday February 3rd also from 10AM to 12 noon.All paintings will need to be properly framed with taut wire on the back (no saw tooth hardware). Paintings that are not properly framed and wired will not be in the show.
**All Contributing Artists who intend to exhibit must upload up to four plein air paintings through this Meetup site by Sunday November 15th. Please include title, size, medium, price and artist's name as a caption with each photo on Meetup. After you upload a painting you will see 3 dots on the upper right which allow you to add your caption. A few days before the show, we will determine how many paintings each Contributing Artist can display depending on how many artists choose to participate.Please attach a label on the back of each painting with the same caption information plus contact information to allow a potential buyer to reach you. Contact information must include your phone number and email as well as the names and phone numbers of two people you designate to act on your behalf concerning sales.
This is not a juried show but all plein air paintings will be checked by the library for suitability. Artists are responsible for handling the sale of their artwork including collection and remittance of Florida sales tax, 10% contribution to PAPB and 20% contribution to the Delray Beach Public Library. Please call Susan Lubin (973-670-0707) or Andrea Candlin (612-875-5368) if you are about to make a sale for help with paying the contributions and replacing a painting that is sold. All paintings exhibited will remain on display until the exhibit ends on Wednesday February 3rd unless sold, in which case the replacement painting will remain on exhibit until February 3rd. Please note that the exhibit actually ends on February 3rd but pick up is on Thursday February 4th from 10AM to 12 noon.
IMPORTANT: There will be a Reception for the Plein Air Palm Beach Fine Art Show in the library’s first floor meeting room on Tuesday December 8th from 4 to 6 PM. The Reception will include a Holiday Pop-Up Sale of Unique Giftable items. We encourage all exhibiting artists to attend and to bring small artful items to sell. Please help make this show a success by bringing your friends and neighbors to both the reception and the show. The reception is a great opportunity for the public to get to know you and your art. The 10% contribution to PAPB and 20% contribution to the Delray Beach Public Library is not required for the small items sold at the Pop-Up Sale. However, Florida sales tax must be charged and paid for items sold at the Pop-Up Sale. Please let Susan Lubin or Andrea Candlin know by Sunday November 15th if you will be selling in the Pop-Up Sale.
New this year! There will be a presentation by designer Pat Ziv ASID, CID covering the topic of using plein air artwork in your home decor.
The Plein Air Palm Beach Fine Art Show is a wonderful opportunity to exhibit your art downtown during the height of the season.
