# Karn Verma
Karn Verma is a passionate dance instructor specializing in Argentine tango and Cross Step Waltz. His journey began at the age of seven, inspired by Michael Jackson, and later expanded during his studies at Stanford University, where he explored various social dances with Richard Powers' classes. After performing Salsa and Bachata with a Los Angeles-based company, he discovered Argentine tango in 2015, deepening his expertise with training in Buenos Aires and Rome under Pablo Veron. Karn has taught at Stanford's Bechtel International Center, Friday Night Waltz in Palo Alto, Jikoji Zen Center, and the Oshman Family JCC.
In 2022, Karn founded Feeling Flow, a dance school dedicated to fostering connection and mindfulness through movement. His teaching integrates meditation, focusing on authenticity, flow, and musicality. With a strong emphasis on community building, he has introduced innovative events like live music milongas and structured tango series featuring experienced local instructors. Beyond dance, Karn is also involved in technology and healthcare innovation while practicing Zen and hosting Japanese tea ceremonies.
Argentine Tango
Argentine tango is an intimate and improvisational partner dance that emphasizes connection, musicality, and expression. Rooted in the streets of Buenos Aires, it blends elegance with raw emotion, creating a deep dialogue between dancers. With its rich history and evolving styles, tango is both a social dance and an art form that invites lifelong exploration.
Beginners Class I: 7:15 – 8:05 pm
Prerequisites: No previous tango or social dance experience needed
Discover the foundations of Argentine tango through posture, balance, and effortless movement. This class introduces the tango walk, rock steps (cadencia), and fluid ochos (figure 8s), helping you build a strong foundation for connection and musicality.
Beginner Class II: 8:10 – 9:00 pm
Prerequisites: Beginner Class I or equivalent Argentine tango experience
Expand your vocabulary with Ocho Variations and the expressive Parada Pasada (stop) (pass). Ocho variations introduce dynamic changes in direction, rhythm, and intention, deepening your ability to move fluidly within the embrace. The Parada Pasada is unusually easy by tango standards, yet one the most iconic figures in tango—where the dance can completely pause, creating a suspended, almost timeless interaction before continuing.
Jerry is our dj tonight for waltz, polka, tango, one step, Congress of Vienna, Bohemian National Polka, mixers and line dances.
from 9:00 to 11:45
