Tonight we are teaching basic Rotary waltz.We always need to rediscover our basic dance
7:15 Beginner rotary waltz.Tonight we teach waltz timing, basic frame,how to spin around your partner. We rotate rapidly in class, so you get to meet everyone in class. and so greet potential dance partners.
8:15 We teach simple but fun intermediate steps. How to underarm turns, simple spins, fllip flops, enough basic but fun steps that will keep your partner dancing.

Akshay Srivatsan

Akshay has been dancing since 2018, especially Waltz, Lindy Hop, and West Coast Swing. He has taught and DJed at Stanford Dancebreak, Stanford Swing Dancers, Stanford Big Dance, Stanford Viennese Ball, and Harvard Lindy Hop; and he has performed as a member of the 47th Stanford Viennese Ball Opening Committee and served as a tutor for the 48th. Outside of dance he researches distributed operating systems and programming languages as a Ph.D. student at Stanford.

# Bella
Bella discovered social dance during her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Stanford and quickly fell in love. She joined the Stanford Viennese Ball Opening Committee, where she has performed 3 times. At this year’s 48th Viennese Ball, she was honored to win First Place in the Rotary Waltz Competition. Bella has also performed and choreographed for Cardinal West Coast Swing, which she helps run. Akash discovered ballroom dancing in the Bay Area in 2017 and has been dancing ever since. He's drawn to dances where he's drawn to the music, and loves to explore and share both.
7:00 Doors open
7:15 Classes start - Please arrive 15 minutes early to avoid the rush.
8:00 Intermediate class
9:00 DJ dance music
11:45 Doors close
$15 general. $10 for students with ID.
Cash, Check, Credit Card, Apple Pay. We do not accept Venmo. Tickets at the door.
No partner necessary. We rotate rapidly in class.
All Ages. Casual comfortable attire.
Masks are optional.
