Okay...Here's the Plan...Let's rent kayaks at the Isle of Capri Fish House for a 3-hour tour...the weather started getting rough...No wait....Stop that music!!
weather will be great.... :)The Fish House rents single seat kayaks for $35/ 3 hours and tandem kayaks for $50/ 3 hours. Last time I checked, the Fish House does not take kayak reservations, but I'll check again and report back. The Fish House does supply all you need: kayak, paddle, and flotation device.
If you have your own kayaks, bring em!!! If you have an extra kayak to share please post a comment.
Once loaded up and ready to paddle, we'll paddle across the Big Marco Pass to explore a small lagoon, then we'll paddle out to the opening of Big Marco Pass to walk some sandy beaches at low tide. Total paddle time will be around 2 of the 3 hours.
When we're ready to return to the Fish House, we'll paddle back with the incoming tide.
We'll end our adventure with a waterside lunch at the Fish House's Chickee Hut...Yes, cold beers and grouper sandwiches are HIGHLY recommended after paddling... :)
What to bring: lots of sunscreen, water-shoes of some type, sunglasses, hats, cell phone/camera in a zip-lock bag. cold beverages (frozen water bottles work well), snacks, bug spray, etc.
By attending this event, you are responsible for your own safety and are assuming all risks yourself.
Please do not park in the Fish House parking lot as there is tons of parking just across the street.
