Fall Foliage Hike

Come see the fall colors

This one will lead us to the north side of Harriman State Park to the Old Silver mine Ski Center parking lot. Ok first things first to all who plan on attending this event "THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE IN THE PARKING LOT" or "ON MOST OF THE TRAIL AS WELL AS UP AT THE SHELTER"

This hike is somewhat short just 3 miles on the yellow Menomine Trail; the first mile is alongside the beautiful Silver Mine Lake however this trail is rocky so the set pace will be somewhat slower to prevent anyone turning an ankle or falling. Here's the challenge but not a huge one the last half mile is all up hill and yes still rocky but push through it troops and we'll arrive at the Willian Brien Memorial Shelter on the AT.
Bring
· 2 liters water and favorite snack
· Comfortable boots
· Bug Repellant
Anyone looking to study this trail or the surrounding area you can find it on NY/NJ Trail Conference map #119 or Avenza Maps app.
Firewood needs to be cut and processed for some light and warmth during the outing.

VERY IMPORTANT RULES
NO DRUGS NO ALCOHOL NO WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED ON OUTINGS.
WAIVERS MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN OUTING.
ALL GARBAGE MUST BE CARRIED OUT TAKE NOTHING BUT PICTURES LEAVE NOTHING BUT FOOTPRINTS
If you have any medical conditions and/or carry any medications for your condition, please inform a group leader of said condition and inform us where in your pack you carry your first aid kit and medications as it will speed the process in assisting you should the need arise. We carry first aid kits and trauma kits however it's your responsibility to provide for your own medicine as it will be a special
needs item.
