SUN 4/22 Exploring Micro Businesses Workshop, Palo Alto

Details

Dear Parents of Teen Entrepreneurs,

One of the first questions that parents and teens often have is, "What kind of business could we actually start right away?"

What kind of business does your son or daughter dream of building?

What strengths, skills, interests, and resources are already available to you and your family?

Exploring and researching businesses that are good matches for your teen and your family is an important step, so we'd like to share some successful micro business ideas.

We'd like to meet in person and find out your questions, ideas, and business project goals.

Our next Entrepreneurs Workshop will be on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22 at 4pm.

We have a possible guest speaker who will join us! More updates soon.

Our complimentary workshop will include:

  • welcome & introductions

  • an interactive brainstorming game

  • powerful tools for choosing business projects based on strengths, skills and resources

  • light, nut-free snacks

Please tell parents about this event and RSVP "Yes!" for our first workshop:

Parents Raising Teen Entrepreneurs

Writing Coaches Shu-Hsien Ho and Royd Hatta have had several lives as business owners since 2002. Their business ventures have included Ella and Monk, a small greeting card and graphic design company; investment and management of two apartment complexes in Kentucky; and more recently, their writing workshop business which grew from running two writing clubs for youth, Bay Area Young Writers and Bay Area Teen Writers. By special parent request, Ms. Ho and Mr. Hatta introduced a business plan course for teens in 2011. In this course, one teen developed a marketing strategy for his iPhone game app, three teens formed a local cupcake business, and another teen researched an innovative environmental solution to preserve native plants in California.
