About us
Pasadena Women’s or Non Binary Beginning Intermediate pick up soccer meets weekends to play a chill game of soccer.
Our primary goal is to provide a safe place for beginners and people returning to the sport from a long hiatus or injury. This group serves women and non-binary people who want to learn to play non-competitive, friendly soccer. We have players of all ages (you must be 18+ plus to join) and of all skill levels. This is a group that stresses learning through playing and making mistakes. If you have never played soccer and find yourself late in life curious about it then- This is your group!
This group is low commitment week-to-week sign up. You do not have to sign up for every week and you don’t have to stay the whole time.
How do you join this group?
1. Create a profile
2. Add a profile pic with your face in it so we will know who you are. (Don’t use your cat. Your cat isn’t gonna play soccer for you).
3. Ask to join the Group.
4. Once you’re in the group you can sign up for a game.
Game fees of $10 for Sundays and $7 for Wednesdays. This fee cover the cost of things like the park permit, ice packs, Advil, goals, soccer balls, and pinnies.
The Game
At the beginning of each meet up we take attendance and divide into teams. The games run for 25-30 mins with short water breaks.
The Rules
1. No apologies. (Female soccer players tend to over apologize when they make mistakes on the field)
2. No slide tackling
3. We play positions, defense, midfield, wingers, center-mid, forwards. We do corner kicks, throws-ins and goal kicks. There is no offside. If you don’t know what any of that is, we’ll explain it to you!
4. No ball hogging.
5. Don’t push beginners off the ball. Give beginners time to make decisions with the ball and pass the ball to them.
6. Don’t try to over coach beginners it’s better to let them learn from mistakes.
7. We rotate positions so you can experience playing every position.
