We will meet at the Porta-Potties in the back parking lot next to the water.
There are extra lots of parking at the park-and-ride off of Falls Road.
Join us for a scenic hike at Lake Roland Park, where we will walk in a large loop for no particular reason except fresh air, exercise, and avoiding our responsibilities for a few hours.
Expect:

  • Trees doing tree things
  • Water that looks peaceful but judges you silently
  • Rolling hills designed by someone who clearly hates calves
  • A pace that starts “casual” and ends “why am I sweating through optimism”

We will hike a few miles (exact distance TBD because no one believes numbers anyway) on mostly well-marked trails, pausing occasionally to:

  • Pretend we’re not tired
  • Take photos we’ll never post
  • Say things like “this is actually a nice incline” while lying to ourselves

This is a social hike, meaning conversation is encouraged, complaining is allowed, and falling dramatically into the lake is discouraged (but would make a great story).
Bring:

  • Water
  • Sturdy shoes (non-negotiable)
  • A sense of humor (highly recommended)
  • Emotional readiness to meet strangers who are weird in the same general way you are

Dogs welcome if they are friendly and won’t judge us for stopping too often.
New hikers welcome. Overconfident hikers will be humbled by nature.
We’ll finish tired, slightly muddy, and feeling morally superior for “getting outside.”
RSVP if you enjoy walking, laughing, and pretending this was easier last time. 🌲🥾
