What we’re about
Everyone is part of the Patchwork of people that make up our community. Each of us has our own history, stories, traditions, and foods that give us our unique identity; it's what gives the "spice" to an otherwise bland world!
Patchwork Suppers are designed to celebrate Oakland's food traditions by creating and sharing a simple but delicious meal. You never know quite what to expect on the menu; but there is always a vegetarian option.
Sound Interesting? Do you want to be a part of Patchwork Suppers? It's simple!

Chef's, cooks, helpers: If the kitchen is your home, come on Patchwork Wednesdays and volunteer to be a "Patchwork Chef." We know that many people in our community are busy with work, school, and other obligations that leave little time to buy, prepare—or even eat—a delicious home-cooked meal during the busy week. Some people have difficulty cooking due to other limitations, and some people eat alone. Please come and create a simple but delicious meal in our kitchen to share your culinary story with others who may not have the time to cook or want to share a meal with others.
Please pick up a short form at a Patchwork Supper Wednesday, or this link, or contact us at patchworksuppers@gmail.com. Return at the form in person on a Wednesday, by email, or US mail to: Patchwork Suppers, 7932 Mountain Blvd. Oakland, CA 94605.
Eaters and take-away: It's not only the Chefs that share their culinary stories! At 5:30 p.m. we serve the food our chefs of the week create. Come sit down, relax, meet your neighbors, and share your stories over food. Too busy to even sit down? No worries! Take some with you to eat and share at home.
