Patchwork Supper

Details
Patchwork: Something composed of miscellaneous or incongruous parts. (Merriam Webster)
Everyone is part of the Patchwork of people that make up our community. Each of us has our own history, stories, traditions, and foods that give us our unique identity. It's what gives the "spice" to an otherwise bland world! Patchwork Suppers are designed to celebrate our food traditions.
We understand that many people in our community are busy with work, school, and other obligations that leave little time to buy, prepare—or even eat—a delicious home-cooked meal during the busy week. Some people have difficulty cooking due to other limitations, some people eat alone.
Everyone is invited to come share in the food experience of our community's Patchwork!
On Wednesdays volunteer home cooks, or as we call them, "Patchwork Chefs," from the Oakland community create a simple but delicious meal in our kitchen to share their story. You never know quite what to expect on the menu; but there is always a vegetarian option.
It's not only the chef's that share their stories:
At 5:30 p.m. we serve the food our chefs of the week create!
Come sit down, relax, meet your neighbors, and share your stories over food. Too busy to even sit down? No worries! Take some with you to eat and share later.
Sound Interesting? Do you want to be a part of Patchwork Suppers? It's simple!
People who like to cook, or help cook and share in the kitchen:
arrive at 3:00 p.m.
People who like to eat (or take some food home): come between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Clean-up: All invited after the meal
An at-will, no-one turned away, donation towards food purchases is appreciated but not required.
