Details
Join me for advanced sailing instruction and/or sailing adventures In crystal clear waters! So far it’s just me. I have to go anyways to check on things so someone should take advantage of this opportunity and join me! Bring a friend if you like!
This event is a one week long monthly bahamas island hopping event that will take place on or around 17 july to 24 july plus minus a day or two. The exact dates have not been set so that the first person to join can have more flexibility scheduling. The dates are flexible until the first person prepays their donation. if you want to donate money or join Pato club or reserve one of the 2 beds in this trip please let me know. Because that’s how we finance these monthly Bahamas excursions.
This event will be a Bahamas island hopping sailing experience. The boat is now in freeport, Bahamas waiting for this event. She will sail east to little hog cay and Marsh Harbor stopping along the way in beautiful secluded islands with white sandy beaches and rocky shores overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Observing the tall seaside pine trees and coconut palms, verious birdlife and sealife. We always see turtles and sometimes see dolphins, stingrays, baracudas. But the real joy of sailing, as most seasoned cruisers say is the people you meet in these hard to reach places.
The duration of this event will be no longer than 7 days. People can leave the boat at any time as before. Once again, anyone can leave the boat early at any point. We will be close enough to the mainland at all times to take the dinghy to shore and take a taxi to either freeport airport or the Marsh Harbor airport and fly home early It they choose to.
Also everyone coming will have to share expenses such as food, water, fuel although the fuel cost is minimal depending on the weather conditions and prefered destinations.
Islands that we could visit are green turtle cay, Hopetown, and several lesser known islands and houndreds of secluded islands too.
We have 1 Hobie Bravo on board as our sailing tender. And a nice hobie wave. So you can get more experience and training on our 12’ Catamaran when we are anchored. And or possibly sail ahead or alongside the big boat on the bravo by yourself or with one other person for an extra donation.
Once again THERE IS AN OPTION TO SAIL alone SINGLEHANDED IN A HOBIE BRAVO to the same islands FOR THE BRAVEST PARTICIPANT! The big boat will follow the Bravo in this case, We will ask for an extra donation for this experience to offset the enormous expense of this endeavor.
Also, we will ask participants of this event and all future Bahamas events to donate 60$/night for a reserved bed inside the boat, to offset the boats Bahamas expenses like boat storage between excursions and maintenance. If a Pato member wants to sleep outside or in a tent when possible that is a a suggested donation of 25$/night.
More details to come.
No experience necessary but this is a members only event. You must join our club to go on this excursion. It is 75$/week or 400$/year. The year ends March 31. Club membership includes unlimited access to all of our boats (contingent on a safety checkout) and admission to all of our weekly sailing events! Also members can bring a guest to any of our events for free (but the member must be at that event and memberships are non-transferable and guests can only come for free to 3 events before they should join Pato club also.)
All the funds raised by membership fees go to building the www.freesailingschool.org and this club either through purchasing / acquiring boats or business expenses. Please help us get more competent single handed sailboat captains on the New York City Waterways!
Please direct message me if you have and suggestions to make this event better and/or our club better! Or if you have any requests for awesome future excursions or events!
