What we’re about
PatrasTechTalk is a group for those interested in IT, digital transformation, and innovative applications!
We meet once a month (almost :) in-person. The events comprise a featured talk or tutorial/workshop to learn or better understand something new and bootstrap discussions and networking afterwards.
Join the group to receive notifications about upcoming events, get to know new like-minded people, and shape the agenda of an upcoming event.
Participation is free of charge for everyone. The group is not affiliated with an organization or company.
A warm welcome from the West Coast of Greece!

Patras Tech Talk 2025.10 [Software, better]
Patras Tech Talk is back and this time we focus on building better tech, from clean data workflows to the foundations of thoughtful software engineering.
Join us for two engaging talks that aim to inform, inspire, and open up meaningful discussions.
Agenda:
18:00 Doors open
18:10–18:20 Welcome and introductions
18:20-18:30 The CoLab Makerspace
18:30–19:10 "Do it once. Do it right. Do it again: Data Science Done Right" by Christos Aridas.
Let’s discuss how to turn messy experiments, scattered data, and ad-hoc pipelines into reproducible, trackable, and automatable data science workflows that just work.
19:10–19:50 "The Scarcity of Engineering Craftsmanship" by Vasilis Christopoulos from Programium.
In a world obsessed with speed, aesthetics, and AI-generated "vibes", true engineering craftsmanship is vanishing. This talk challenges the hype and makes a case for real engineers — those who build with depth, discipline, and intent — to reclaim the soul of software.
19:50–20:50 Networking and more
20:50–21:00 Wrap-up and farewell
21:00 Doors close
The event is kindly hosted by coLab Makerspace.
Attention: Please, RSVP on time and free your spot if you cannot make it as seats are limited!
