What we’re about
Patriotski is a relatively new club at GMU which is dedicated to serving the University snowsports community. It is open to GMU and NOVA students, faculty, staff and community members. Although we are primarily skiers and snowboarders, we endorse all forms of snow activities including ice sculpture, ice skating, sledding, snowman building, snowball fights and drunk polar bear swimming.
We hold weekly meetings during the fall semester and several meetings during the spring semester. We offer several organized trips during the winter break, weekend trips during the earlier part of the spring semester and a trip over spring break.
Our new club officers are elected each April for the following year and new ski trips are planned at that time.
Members are encouraged to communicate with other members through this website for ski related ventures.
Future activities will include: happy hours, community service projects, paintball and whitewater rafting in the summer.
Patriotski is a sub- group/meetup sponsored by the Captial Ski and Ride meetup, an extension of SCWDC (Ski Club of Washington, DC). When appropriate and mutually beneficial, events will be shared by one or more of these organizations.
