Tier1: Anniversary paddle! Rain or shine.
Details
UPDATE:
Considering the weather and the turnout it's a certainty that there won't be enough parking. So here is the plan:
You drive up to the location, volunteers will help you unload your gear on the lawn and you drive out and find parking in the neighboring blocks. We keep an eye on your gear while you walk back.
Want to be a volunteer for this? Looking for about 5 people. Message Jack.
We are turning 6 years old!
This is our traditional paddle (every May15th) to celebrate our birthday. Traditionally at Sellwood Riverfront Park. And we are holding it regardless of weather. A few years ago we paddled in the rain and it was surprisingly magical.
We'll gather at the lawn between the parking lot and the river at 6pm, will inflate there, then take our kayaks and launch at the dock, hopefully by 6:30 or so.
Depending on the weather/wind/current we might go downstream towards Ross Island or paddle upstream.
If you need a kayak/spot in a kayak or have any questions - post that request in a comment, hopefully someone can help out. For this event Jack won't have kayaks available.
Bring a kayak (or any other vessel), PFD and all you need to stay safe/hydrated/protected from the sun. Your safety is your responsibility.
We will be grateful for donations, 100% of money goes towards running the group. We take Venmo or cash.
