Time for our annual camping & paddle around Clear Lake, along the beautiful McKenzie River! Usually we go Memorial Day weekend, but switching it up to the weekend after.

LOCATION: Coldwater Cove Campground in the Willamette National Forest. The campground is to the east of Corvallis & about 2 hours from Portland. May is opening month so all camp sites are 1st come/ 1st serve (no reservations). This is great - we did 1st come/ 1st serve last year too, with great success. I'm hoping to be in our usual area... on the far loop closest to boat ramp - sites 27 to 33 - as these have good views & great lake access. I will be there early on Fri (I may even go on Thurs) to hopefully secure spots (I assume I will be successful, but of course there is no guarantee). Sites are large, so I'm hoping to put 2 tents in each site - please be flexible.
*Note there is no cell service at the campground, pets are allowed at all sites (lmk if bringing a dog), &, one participant may bring his 12 year old son.

ATTENDEES: This is a Tier 3 event, which is meant for experienced kayakers with a solid history of attending events. Everyone goes on the waitlist & the organizer will evaluate each person's abilities before contacting them to secure payment & then move them to going. Please only sign up if you are serious about going & keep your RSVP updated if something changes.

COST: Your cost for both nights total is $25 - based on 2 tents sharing each site. One car allowed per site. Any extra cars *may* need to go to overflow with a $9/day charge from park.

PAYMENT: ***Important: When I'm ready to move you to going, I will contact you with payment details. Once you send **payment** (please be prompt as I'm holding virtual spot for you), I will move you to going.
Payment to me via venmo @tanja-diers (I also have paypal - or arrange other payment method). If needed, the last 4 digits of my phone are 6651. This is because I am holding spot for you & will be paying for sites. Payment will be $25 total.

CANCELLATIONS: We understand things happen, so please lmk if plans change - please be courteous, as there is usually a wait list. I will refund, unless we end up with an odd # of people. **Note very bad weather will cancel the event. Watch for organizer updates.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE:
--Friday: Check in time starts at 2PM. We may do a short hike in the area.
--Saturday: Wake up, have breakfast, head to the boat ramp, and hit the water! We will be getting some amazing views! Maybe do a short hike after.
--Sunday: We pack the cars & check out before 1PM. We will then pull out the kayaks down the road at the beautiful Fish Lake to explore that lake before heading home. Or we may head down to the hot springs we have visited in past years (bring bathing suit). Feel free to leave anytime you're ready on Sunday, but please pack out what you packed in, including trash.

CAMPING/PADDLING:
-Please pack everything you would need for a multi-day camping trip. Please remember to pack clothes and a sleeping setup based on the weather (note we will be under trees) & bring a headlamp!
-There is a toilet, shower, fire ring, picnic table
-Firewood should be available for purchase at the campground or bring some.
-The paddle on Saturday will be multiple hours, please plan to bring enough hydration & sunscreen to keep yourself safe. Also don’t forget your PFD & whistle.
