"Hello Portland (and other places) Neurodivergent Folks! Sometimes the effort to mask for our neurotypical friends can be draining or frustrating. Sometimes we want to talk about this one awesome thing we love! Sometimes we want to be around people who get us."
This group is a place for neurodivergent adults to find other neurodivergent adults with whom to hang out and have fun in Portland, Oregon and virtually. Self-diagnosis is valid: "If you think you belong here (and you are at least 18 years old), you do." This is an LGBT et al —safe space.
We use the Rainbow Brains Slack workspace to locate each other at events, communicate DAY-OF event changes, reach the group without exposing phone numbers to strangers in text threads, coordinate ride sharing, plan, and generally interact. Many of our events do not make it to the Meetup platform but are completely planned in Slack. To receive an invite to the workspace, send a direct Meetup message to Meredith giving the email address to use for the invite.
Dues are not required to join the group or attend events. Rainbow Brains dues are fund-drive, "Pay What You Can" style.
