DESCRIPTION: In the holiday spirit, this walk will traipse through numerous old and new Portland hotels, focusing on those with architectural and design interest, onsite coffee shops, top-notch restaurants and bars, community living rooms, and rooftop views. Wear tinsel. :-)

P.S. Nine-year-old Miss Lillian is thrilled to be the co-organizer for this special event. She has walked it numerous times with me, noting the special features she wants you all to experience. All hotel choices and the route are approved by her. And guess whose idea it is to wear tinsel? LOL! (More details below.)

SAFETY & COMMUNITY
For safety and community, we now require first and last name, your photo, email address, and neighborhood. Please review your Meetup membership profile and make sure the required info is there. If you are unwilling to be known, this is not the group for you. Thanks for helping us make these events open, engaging, and fun!

NEW RULES: COURTESY, FAIRNESS, NO SHOWS & GATE CRASHING
If you register for a meetup and later discover that you are unable to attend, you MUST unregister AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE of the meetup. Failure to UNREGISTER AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE will result in a NO-SHOW, regardless of circumstance.

After each instance of no-show, affected members will be moved to the Wait List for their following registered event, if it fills to capacity. And then moved back to the Going List if space becomes available.

Membership in this group may be discontinued after multiple no-shows.

If you are not registered for an event, YOU MAY NOT ATTEND--except by special permission of the group leader. NO EXCEPTIONS!

PARKING: Chinatown/Old Town street/lot parking.

LAUNCH TIME: Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. for sign-in and intros. We'll head out at 10:00 a.m. sharp.

ATTIRE: Sturdy walking/running shoes, compact umbrella, and layered clothing appropriate for the weather. Plus, anything else you need to survive 3 hours stomping city sidewalks and reasonably well-maintained trails (water, energy bar, chapstick, lightweight backpack, adventurous spirit, great sense of humor, etc.).

FITNESS LEVEL: Expect a moderate 3-mile-an-hour (20-minute mile) pace for this city walk on sidewalks, some of which are uneven and in need of repair.

GUESTS: Yes, of course, you may bring a guest. However, all participants must be registered. Thank you!
