Walking Sellwood-Moreland: Historic Garthwick Loop

Details
ROUTE: For this walk, we trek the secluded, magical, decidedly upscale Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood of Garthwick. Bordering the Willamette Valley Country Club (and golf course), Garthwick is its own serenely beautiful world. You'll feel miles away from the hustle-bustle of downtown Sellwood. And yet Garthwick is within easy walking distance of a number of excellent coffee and retail shops, as well as the Willamette River-hugging Springwater Trail, which we'll also explore. We leave promptly at 10:00 A.M.
VIBE: Expect a quiet, uplifting, gorgeous, mostly flat, sidewalk and paved trail walk-and-gawk of 4-5 miles.

ATTIRE: Sturdy walking/running shoes, compact umbrella, and layered clothing appropriate for the weather. Plus, anything else you need to survive 2-3 hours stomping city sidewalks and reasonably well-maintained trails (water, energy bar, chapstick, lightweight backpack, adventurous spirit, great sense of humor etc.).
COURTESY & NO SHOWS: This issue has become problematic. If you register for a meetup and later discover you are unable to attend, please unregister AT LEAST 48 HOURS in advance of the meetup, thus allowing another member to take your spot. (No need to leave a reason.) Membership in this group will be discontinued WITHOUT NOTICE after multiple no-shows or late drops. Thank you for considering your fellow walkers and our time and effort in organizing these events!
LATE REGISTRATION: Occasionally a member decides a day or two before a walk that they want to join in. And then when they attempt to register they discover that registration is no longer open. That's because registration closes 48 hours in advance of each walk. If this happens to YOU, message me, and I'll see if we can squeeze you in. Thanks!
