What we're about

Portland Frontrunners is a running club for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queer individuals, and their friends in the Portland, Oregon area. Our mission is to promote good health and provide an opportunity for positive social interaction through running, walking, and club events in a supportive, LGBT running community.

Portland Frontrunners is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization run by a Board of Directors elected by our Members. We are a member of International Front Runners (http://www.frontrunners.org/), a consortium of over one hundred Frontrunner chapters worldwide. Being an IFR member greatly expands our visibility and gives members access to a global network of gay-identified running organizations. We are also a member of Road Runners Club of America (https://www.rrca.org/).

Tuesday Run & Walk

Duniway Track

[masked]
The Board would like to keep with its mission of promoting good health and positive social interaction in our community even during these complicated times. Currently Multnomah County falls into the “Moderate Risk” category based on the Governor’s health and safety framework. Under this category, recreational gatherings of up to 150 people outside are allowed when abiding by physical distancing. With these requirements in mind, and using the examples of other Frontrunners groups around the country, the Board has decided to update the policies of our Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday Runs and Walks:

Please maintain appropriate social distancing during announcements and if you choose to gather after your run or walk.
A face covering is required outdoors in Oregon if you cannot maintain 6' apart; please follow the guidelines.
We will be monitoring this week to week and making adjustments as needed. Please contact us with any comments, questions, or concerns.

Join us for our Tuesday Run & Walk on Terwilliger Boulevard! We meet at south entrance of Duniway Track near the restrooms at 6 PM. The run options are 5 or 6 miles up and back on Terwilliger or check out the trail options on our Strava page. The shorter run/walk is 2.5 miles around the track, but feel free to tailor to your own level. Afterwards, we go to Suki's Bar for dinner and drinks! This is a self-supported event, so please take care of all your own food, drink, clothing, and health needs.
