Here's a goofy idea: why don't we get together on the morning of Black Friday (November 28th), commandeer some tables at the Lloyd Center food court, and play board games for a few hours?

For those who haven't been in a while - or who haven't been at all - Lloyd Center has undergone a quiet, curious change over the last couple years. Its decline as a conventional shopping center, with many of its storefronts sitting empty, has also created an opportunity for idiosyncratic, unusual local businesses and organizations to find cheap indoor retail space. Now you can also find all sorts of interesting things happening there, from miniature wargame conventions to grassroots art fairs to a pinball museum, a trading card shop, a small-press role-playing game store, an indie comic shop, a lightsaber-building workshop, and much more. It's also quieter and more relaxed than how you might imagine a mall, and the third floor (where we'll be) gets A LOT of natural light.

My plan is to arrive at 11:00 AM on the 28th, set up at the south end of the food court, and hang around until at least 2:00. I'll bring a few table cloths (just to be on the safe side) and a selection of light- to medium-weight games. If you'd like to join us, I hope you will! Take care, and have a lovely weekend.
