The Practice of Washindo, Meditation and Yoga
Regular practice of Washindo (our peaceful martial art), along with meditation and yoga, is essential for expanding personal consciousness. The combination of these practices facilitates a holistic approach to self-development, aligning physical, mental and spiritual aspects. By incorporating meditation into Washindo sessions, practitioners can experience profound states of inner peace and mental clarity.
Meditation techniques employed in conjunction with Washindo involve focusing the mind, releasing thoughts, and cultivating a deep sense of stillness within. This state of quietude enables individuals to access the fourth state of consciousness and explore the unbounded ocean of creativity and intelligence that resides within.
Yoga, with its emphasis on physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama) and meditation, complements the practice of Washindo by promoting flexibility, balance, and harmony within the body-mind complex. Yoga enhances the flow of vital energy (prana) and purifies the mind, preparing practitioners for deeper meditative experiences.
Colin Reeve, the visionary founder of Washindo and The Peaceful Way, has made significant contributions to the exploration of consciousness through his innovative approach. In his quest to facilitate deeper levels of awareness, Reeve developed a transformative kata called "Mushin no Shin." This kata integrates fluid physical movements, mudras (hand gestures), and conscious breathing, creating a powerful body-mind practice that unlocks higher states of consciousness.
