Summer nature event

Details
Hoping we will get a sunny day for this. We will meet up at the stile entrance to Hoe Grange quarry at 10.50 and enter the quarry at 11 am. We will not wait for late comers.
The quarry is owned by Longcliffe quarrries but has not been worked for many years and is managed by butterfly conservation and Derbyshire wildlife trust for nature. It is the first butterfly reserve in Derbyshire. Access is usually by appointment which I have arranged. The warden will be there to talk to us about what butterflies etc are around and maybe even show us around. As well as butterflies I hope we will see newts, dragonflies and other creatures in or around the ponds, day flying moths, and birds. The picture for this event was taken at the quarry and shows a six spot Burnett, a day flying moth. Bring your binoculars if you have some. Ill bring my scope.
The timetable for the day will be to enter the reserve at 11 am. Look around the reserve for a few hours. We will then have a group picnic lunch so bring food drink and cutlery for that and something to sit on. We can liaise nearer the time about what food we can each contribute. After lunch we can spend more time at the reserve or do a short walk nearby. We will finish by 4 pm.
Parking is limited outside the reserve itself to about 3 cars so car share where you can. There is parking nearby and I will post details nearer the time.
Sorry no dogs are allowed in the reserve.
