Ilam Hall and Throwley Moor vua the Manifold Way
Details
Always a great spot to start a walk from with so many to choose from.
Ilam Hall is a stunning National Trust property which is partly used as a YHA Hostel but with extensive grounds and a super location alongside the River Manifold before it meets and merges with the nearby River Dove.
Our walk takes us from Ilam Hall to the Manifold Way at this point running alongside the River Hamps rather than the River Manifold.
We return via the ruins and more modern replacement for Throwley Hall and retrace our steps back to the start.
Parking is P & D at Ilam Hall or free to National Trust members but there may also be some free parking spots just outside. Take care as there are frequent parking checks in this area.
Please take LOTS of pictures and upload them to this Meetup page so everyone can see how much fun you had.
Dogs are welcome as long as not constantly barking and jumping up. Owners must keep dogs under control at all times and place on a lead when near farm animals or signs tell us to do so.
Bring snacks, fluids and a lunch packup. Waterproofs would be a good idea too.
Lift sharing is strongly encouraged, just leave a message below if offering or asking for a lift.
Please plenty of time for parking and kitting up just in case and share transport if you can.
We do not wait for latecomers!
