MEETUP 09: COGNITIVE TRAINING & HABIT ARCHITECTURE

Wouldn’t it be great if we could train our bodies and minds to build healthy habits? To move out of survival mode and into thriving mode?

In this meetup, we’ll learn tools for resetting our habits, find out how to design our lives for behavior change, and tap into a new data set to get insights into cognitive performance. SF Peak Performance is bringing in the experts to show you how lifestyle habits relate to cognition, and to hand you the technological tools they've created for redesigning your daily habits and behaviors.

And we've got chocolate! Il Morso (https://ilmorso.com/) will be on hand to sample their low carb coffee-chocolate. Espresso bean, cocoa butter, and whole cane sugar tempered into a mouth-melting bite. They call it the smoothest caffeine lift around.

Bob Schafer, PhD (https://www.linkedin.com/in/bob-schafer-4171554) is a Product Scientist at Lumos Labs, the makers of the Lumosity (http://lumosity.com) brain training program. In his role, Bob helps translate neuroscience research and data findings into products that help people measure, understand, and train their cognitive abilities. Prior to working at Lumos, he was the founder of a startup using cognitive behaviors and physiology to make predictions about performance in the workplace and in sports. Bob earned his PhD in neuroscience from Stanford, and was a postdoctoral fellow at MIT.

Bob will talk about the use of data from online brain training products to learn about factors that influence cognitive performance. His talk is entitled, “Generating Insights from Cognitive Performance Datasets.”

Andrew Zimmermann (https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrew-zimmermann-2bab884b) founder of Play Present (now Lucid Performance (http://getlucid.com)) will be speaking on the intersection of psychology and performance. He will cover concepts and principles that will help people move out of survival mode and into thriving mode in pressure situations. He will also cover basic behavior models so you can take the concepts and principles and apply them to your life on a daily basis. It's time to change the way you think, it's time to move from survival mode to thriving in the fast paced world of peak performance.

Andrew studied scalable behavior change under the direction of Dr. BJ Fogg at the Persuasive Technology Lab at Stanford. He is currently director of content for Lucid Performance. He is in charge of taking the mental training work they do with professional athletes and scaling it through the Lucid Mental Training App. He works directly with Sport Psychologists and Mental Skills Coaches who work with elite professional and olympic athletes to bring it to a wider scale.
