The walk..
This walk is around 8 miles, just enough to build up an appetite for those Christmas treats and Gluwein!
We head out from the lovely little village of Baslow taking in Birchen Edge, Chatsworth and the surrounding areas in the Derbyshire Countryside,
Whilst on Birchen Edge we can take a peek at Nelson's monument, this tall stone stands at 1,000 ft above sea level and was erected five years after the Battle of Trafalgar in 1810. Close by to the monument there are three very large and interesting rocks, called the Three Ships ,Each rock has been carefully carved with a name: The Victory, Defiant and Royal Sovereign.
As we head back towards Baslow we will take in the Christmas markets, it's not obligatory but it's a nice way to end the walk.
