Moel Eilio Walk from Llanberis

Details

Our walk starts in the very quaint, but busy village of Llandberis, which is well known for one of the start points for climbing Snowdon as well as being home to the Snowdon Mountain Railway amongst other historical sights.

The Walk

As we leave Llanberis we head up towards Foel Goch (605m) and Foel Gron(593m) via Bwlch Maes-Gwm we will be climbing up to 2,490ft by the time we will reach the summit of Moel Eilio.
Here at the summit we will be at a great vantage point for views of Snowdon , the Glyderau range and further towards Angelsey.

Total Ascent 2,490ft
Total Descent 2,539ft
Around 9 miles in length.

This walk is not technically difficult but a good level of fitness is required due to the ascent and distance.

Come prepared for all weathers and bring a packed lunch and fluids.

If by any chance your plans change, please be courteous and change your RSVP to NO. so that we don't have to wait around unnecessarily.

The Disclaimer!

We are a group of like-minded adults who share the same interest, the great outdoors.
Our leaders/event hosts are volunteers, they're there to guide groups on walks in the countryside, they're not responsible for each and every participant other than themselves.
It is expected that all participants to be fully responsible for themselves and their own safety, we do not employ first aiders or qualified walk leaders. Participants are also expected to attend every walk with suitable clothing, footwear and any other equipment, that includes waterproofs for wet weather and walking poles if you need them regularly. Enough food and drink for the day is also required.
Some activities in more mountainous regions such as the Lake District, Wales and Scotland, can be more challenging, our walk leaders will use the principal of the groups safety at all times and if the conditions dramatically change for the worse, they will reserve the right to end the walk and turn back.

It is vitally important that when we go out in a group that we stay as a group, especially on mountains.
