Goyt Valley & Shining Tor Walk

Details
As we approach the last day of the High Peak Walking Festival we thought we would squeeze a last minute walk walk within the High Peak area of North Derbyshire. It forms part of the Peak District National Park, near Buxton.
Our walk takes us from a layby just on the outskirts of Whaley Bridge on the Long Hill Road, A5004, as you leave Whaley Bridge, the layby is on the right, a little further up out of the village.
The walk is around 12 miles long, at a comfortable steady pace, hence the earlier than normal start time.
Will be taking in Fernilee Reservoir, Errwood Reservoir, Errwood Hall before we head up to Shining Tor and Cats Tor, after visiting both Tors we will head back down to Pym's Chair, Windgather Rocks and Taxal Moor.
Lots to see on this walk so please take in all the sights and take photo's too!
The Disclaimer!
We are a group of like-minded adults who share the same interest, the great outdoors.
Our leaders/event hosts are volunteers, they're there to guide groups on walks in the countryside, they're not responsible for each and every participant other than themselves.
It is expected that all participants to be fully responsible for themselves and their own safety, we do not employ first aiders or qualified walk leaders. Participants are also expected to attend every walk with suitable clothing, footwear and any other equipment, that includes waterproofs for wet weather and walking poles if you need them regularly. Enough food and drink for the day is also required.
